Recruitment recap
Before Joiner transferred to Auburn High, he was a standout at Oxford (Ala.). Gus Malzahn’s Tiger staff knew about him early on. When Bryan Harsin arrived at Auburn as Malzahn’s successor in December 2020, the program again got involved with Joiner.
In the 2022 class, the Tigers signed two Auburn High players — linebacker Powell Gordon and offensive tackle Eston Harris. Joiner often was seen with those two at Auburn games and made it known that was his dream school.

While at the Auburn-Ole Miss game in 2021, Joiner finally received his offer from Auburn. It was a dream come true and he had no intention of going someplace else. He committed to the Tigers just a couple months later.
SEC readiness
Breakdown from Auburn Live’s Cole Pinkston: Joiner will need some work to be SEC ready. While that is true with most offensive linemen, he does not have the length or raw power early on. The good news for Joiner? He has time to develop. His athleticism for his size (330 pounds) can translate.
With so much roster turnover in the portal era, it is impossible at this point to know where Joiner will be on the depth chart when 2023 rolls around. Center is his natural position but the competition there will be stiff — especially with Auburn also landing another center — Connor Lew — in the 2023 class, along with returnee Tate Johnson. Auburn also could take a center in the portal.
