BREAKING: No. 5 OT Broderick Shull commits to Auburn
Broderick “Brody” Shull, the No. 19 player in the country according to On3, has committed to Auburn. Shull, who is from Bixby, Ok., officially visited Auburn this past weekend and has decided to be a Tiger following the visit.
Shull is commitment number 13 for the class of 2025, and the second commitment in two days. He is On3’s 5th best offensive tackle in the country and the No. 1 player in Oklahoma.
Shull and his family were highly impressed by the Auburn official visit.
“So last time doing an unofficial here was basically in a rush,” Shull said. “It was last minute scheduling. It was still detailed, but it wasn’t fully detailed. This one was the most detailed visit I have ever done in my life. Other schools want to do partying and all of that stuff. They literally showed everything they have and what they want to offer. It’s pretty good.”
According to Shull, things could not have gone much better.
“Well, this was definitely the experience I needed to kind of make my decision much easier,” Shull said. “I would say getting more of the campus vibe was definitely a good part of it.”
Shull is the No. 19 overall player in the class of 2025, the No. 5 offensive tackle, and the No. 1 player in the state of Oklahoma according to On3. If he holds that rating, he will be a 5-star in the future.
Everything stands out
Shull’s dad made the trip this time, and that was an important aspect.
“My dad really needed to see this place,” Shull said. “I was talking to him about how impressive all of this stuff was. Then, I showed him and he literally was impressed. This trip was worth it.”

His relationship continues to grow with Jake Thornton, Auburn’s offensive line coach.
“It’s going good,” Shull said. “We talk about fishing a lot, nature stuff. We talk about our stories, what we’ve dealt with, so it’s pretty good.”
What stood out the most about the visit?
“Also, just seeing everyone again was a pretty good experience. The most important part was being able to see the players mainly because you can see what they’re really like off campus to see if that is really a fit for me. These guys are pretty awesome, they fit me well. They’re responsible, mature guys. It went pretty well.
“Also seeing the agriculture and environmental science part of the school,” Shull said. “And seeing the honey bees there was amazing. The lab was amazing, the people there were amazing, it was all amazing. I had the best time.”
Shull will take two more official visits and then more than likely come to a commitment decision.
“Yes, I have Texas Tech and Texas A&M, we will see how those go,” Shull said. “Depending on what happens after these next OV’s, but if nothing crazy happens–I think I might make my decision maybe a week after the OV’s are done.”
