BREAKING: Top JUCO guard Abdul Bashir commits to Auburn

Casper (Wyoming) College high-scoring guard Abdul Bashir has committed to Auburn.
Bashir, who averages 25.3 points per game this season, announced his decision Sunday via On3’s Joe Tipton. He chose Auburn over Ole Miss, Memphis, Alabama, UCLA and Texas A&M, among others.
Bashir’s commitment comes one week after leaving an official visit to Auburn.
“The visit was really good,” he told Auburn Live. “It was my first time at Auburn and it was great. It was a great visit. They have a great staff and a great team. It was just a great overall visit.”
Bashir has bonds with Auburn coaches
Bashir has developed relationships with Auburn’s coaches, including Bruce Pearl and Corey Williams.
“Coach Williams is a great guy,” Bashir said. “He’s real genuine and real caring. He does a great job.

“Coach Pearl is amazing. He’s what people say he is. He’s really about the right things. He’s very, very genuine and has high character. He is in it for the right reasons to help players and kids like myself succeed. He’s just a great guy.”
Bashir also attended Auburn’s game against Florida last Saturday.
“The atmosphere was crazy,” he said. “It was second to none. It was loud and it’s a very hard place to play. They support the basketball team very well.”
In 24 games this season for Casper, he shot 42.1% from the field and 37.3% from the 3-point line.
