AUBURN -- Without Johni Broome for over 37 minutes of the game, No. 2 Auburn still found a way to score 100 points and win by 41, despite a sluggish start and despite the Tigers' top three three-point shooters combining to go 1-13 from behind the arc. The Tigers were evened up on the boards (34-34), as Georgia State was more physical at times. Auburn allowed 17 offensive rebounds, too. There is plenty of teaching tape for Bruce Pearl after this one, but again, the Tigers found a way to demolish an opponent from a good league in the Sun Belt. Auburn needs Broome to accomplish their major goals, but for a night, while there were some issues in execution at times, give the team credit for being resilient and accepting the challenge Pearl laid out at halftime after only leading by 12 points at the break. Auburn (10-1) remains No. 1 in KenPom, NET and Torvik with No. 16 Purdue on deck in Birmingham on Saturday. Grades, thoughts and notes inside.
