Brief thoughts following Auburn's second straight road loss

AUBURN -- It wasn't the week Bruce Pearl and Auburn basketball had hoped for after dropping a 64-58 decision at Mississippi State. The loss drops the Tigers to 16-3 overall and 5-2 in SEC play. More importantly, Auburn still doesn't have a Quad I win on the season. That's what matters with the NCAA Tournament and seeding in mind. However, the computers still love the Tigers. Auburn is No. 3 in T-Rank, No. 6 in ESPN's Basketball Power Index, No. 7 in KenPom, No. 9 in NET. The BPI projects the Tigers' conference record to be 13-5, which would be an 8-2 close to the conference season. T-Rank still projects a 14-4 conference record.
