When Auburn scheduled the Appalachian State game on the road in December, there were many left scratching their heads. Why would Bruce Pearl go on the road and risk losing to a mid-major during non-conference play? Following the Tigers' 69-64 loss, questioning the decision seemed valid. The loss lingered, and seemingly impacted Auburn's ability to land inside the rankings in the following weeks. The Tigers finally snuck in at No. 25 in the AP poll just before the SEC season began, while being 11-2 and top-10 in the KenPom ratings. But after Saturday's results at Arkansas, where Auburn crushed the Hogs inside Bud Walton Arena to the tune of 83-51, the decision now looks very different.
