Four-star edge Hezekiah Harris, the No. 19 overall recruit in the 2026 class, has committed to Auburn.

Harris, who attends Jemison High School in Huntsville, Ala., announced his decision Saturday during Auburn’s Big Cat recruiting event. He chose the Tigers over Ohio State, Clemson, Alabama, Florida State, Tennessee, USC, Georgia, Florida, Miami, LSU and Oregon, among others.

“I really like Auburn,” Harris said. “And the people recruiting me really put a lot of effort in. My position coach, Coach (Josh) Aldridge), is a great guy. Coach Freeze is a great guy. I like that they are family-oriented guys.”

Harris committed on Saturday, but knew long before that he wanted to be a Tiger.

“I knew back in the spring,” he said. “It was around A-Day.”

Harris is listed at 6-foot-5 and 230 pounds. The On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, ranks him the No. 2 overall recruit in Alabama and No. 3 edge in the country.

Harris is the third commitment in the Tigers’ 26 class, joining four-star wide receiver Denairius Gray and four-star offensive lineman/center Kail Ellis.

“War Eagle!,” Harris said.

2 strengths for Harris

From Auburn Live’s Cole Pinkston…

— Harris has a high level of athleticism. He is lengthy, springy from his hips, and has an elite athletic ceiling.

— As a pass rusher, Harris is raw, but has flashes of brilliance.. potential to be a first rounder in the NFL when all is said and done. He is no where near the peak of what his frame can hold. He could realistically add 30-40 pounds on the next level and hold his athleticism.

On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power on Harris

“Hezekiah Harris has outstanding physical traits that project really well as a pass rusher. He has really filled out his frame over the past year and recently measured in at around 6-foot-5, 230 pounds with elite length (34.5-inch arms). His length, natural power and movement skills stack well within the 2026 cycle at this early stage.

“Harris has a very high upside and is just scratching the surface of what looks to be a very high ceiling. Landing a national talent at EDGE from in-state is a huge get for Auburn.”
