At 6-foot-3 and just over 280 pounds, Lew is on the smaller side, but has a frame that can add significant weight on the next level. Lew has a wrestling background that contributes to his lean frame.

Lew played defense on the high school level and often ran down ball carriers in pursuit. He has a unique skillset as a football player that will translate to the center position.

More than anything, Lew is physical and well-balanced in his approach to every block. He has quick, sudden feet and can win with natural leverage and raw power. Lew does not possess great length, but wins with technique and quickness.

SEC readiness

Breakdown from Auburn Live’s Cole Pinkston:

Lew is ready to compete in the SEC. Offensive linemen don’t normally start as freshmen because of the massive learning curve from high school to college. When Lew adds some needed weight in college, he will be ready to challenge for a job. This can happen fairly quickly, obviously depending on what the Tigers add at his position via the transfer portal.

As far as learning a playbook and scheme, Lew should be able to adapt quickly.
