The Wade File
- Wade is 6-foot-4 290 pounds with a lean frame. His power comes from his lower body where he can drive defenders and anchor down in pass protection.
- Wade is a better pass protector than run blocker. Any of his one-on-one battles are usually won with finesse rather than with power. That’s not a bad thing as long as he wins. Wade has a high-win rate when in one-on-one situations.
- Philip Montgomery loves the dart run scheme. The back side tackle pulls to kick out on the play side. Wade was perfect in that scheme. He can move extremely well when pulling.
- He fits in the RPO plays, the outside zone plays and consistently wins by being the more athletic guy in every matchup.
SEC readiness
Wade has been playing on the G5 level, but it doesn’t matter. His skills translate to the SEC, and quite frankly, to the next level. His size is not prototypical, but his athleticism makes up for that.
Two of Wade’s better games came against Ole Miss and Ohio State. Wade is a plug-and-play guy at left tackle for Auburn barring something crazy happening.
