Following the future: Where Auburn commits are playing this week

It will be another busy week for those of you wanting to keep track of Auburn’s current 2023 and 2024 football commits.

To assist you, here’s a look at who they’ll be facing …

(Note: All games Friday unless otherwise noted)

–Terrance Love, S, Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes: Langston Hughes (7-0) is at Newnan(Ga.), which is 3-4. Kickoff is at 6:30 p.m. CT. Love has 23 tackles, including 10 solos, and one pass breakup — and five receptions for 144 yards and three touchdowns. Newnan has won two straight games. Auburn coach Bryan Harsin plans to attend this game.

–Jeremiah Cobb, RB, Montgomery Catholic (Ala.): Montgomery Catholic (10-0) is OFF. plays at Andalusia (Ala.), 7 p.m. CT.  Cobb has 88 carries for 1,180 yards and 19 touchdowns — to go along with nine receptions for 174 yards and four touchdowns. Andalusia 2024 4-star running back J’Marion Burnette has 1,021 rushing yards this season while averaging 9.2 yards a carry.

–Adam Hopkins, WR, Thomasville (Ga.) Thomas County Central: Thomas County Central (7-0) vs. Warner Robins (Ga.) Houston County (6-1). Kickoff is 6:30 p.m. CT. Hopkins has 20 catches for 293 yards and five touchdowns this season.

–Jamarrion Harkless, DT, Lexington (Ky.) Frederick Douglass: Frederick Douglass (8-0) plays host to Montgomery County (Ky.), which is 2-6. Kickoff is 6:30 p.m. CT. Harkless leads a defense that allows just under 4 points a game.

–Daquayvious Sorey, WR, Chipley (Fla.): Chipley (7-0) at Panama City (Fla.) Bozeman, which is 3-4. Kickoff is 7 p.m. CT. Sorey has 32 receptions for 581 yards and nine touchdowns. He’s also rushed for 73 yards on 10 carries. Bozeman allows more than 25
points per game.

–Wilky Denaud, Edge, Fort Pierce (Fla.) John Carroll: John Carroll (5-1) plays host to Lakeland (Fla.) Victory Christian. Kickoff is at 6 p.m., CT. Denaud leads a John Carroll defense that gives up 13 points a game. He has 46 total tackles, 15 tackles for loss and approximately 10 sacks while playing edge this season. 

–Bradyn Joiner, C, Auburn (Ala.): Auburn (7-1) is at Prattville (Ala.), which is 6-2. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. Joiner, Auburn’s first commit in the 2023 class, starts at tackle. Auburn High averages 36 points a game.

–Jacorious Hart, CB, Auburn (Ala.) Loachapoka: Loachapoka (7-1) plays host to Billingsley (Ala.), which is 3-5. Kickoff is 7 p.m. CT. Hart is having a strong season and in one recent game had an interception and returned it 92 yards for a touchdown.

–Gernorris Wilson, OT, Lakeland (Fla.): Lakeland (6-0) plays host to Clearwater Academy International (Fla.), which is 6-0. Kickoff is 6:30 p.m. CT. Wilson starts at right tackle. Lakeland averages 40 points per game.

–Ashley Williams, Edge, Zachary (La.): Zachary (5-1) plays at Baton Rouge (La.) Central, which is 3-4. Kickoff is 7 p.m. CT.

–Clay Wedin, OT, Tampa (Fla.) Carrollwood Day: Carrollwood Day, now 4-3, lost to Clearwater Central Catholic (Fla.), 31-6 on Thursday.

Here are the 2024 Auburn commits

-2024, Adrian Posse, QB, Hialeah Gardens (Fla.) Mater Academy Charter: Mater Academy Charter (2-6) plays at Miami Beach (Fla.), which is 2-5. Kickoff is at 6 p.m. CT.  In two games this season, Posse has completed 33-of-53 passes for 419 yards and four touchdowns.

-2024-A’Mon Lane, CB, Moody (Ala.): Moody (8-1) plays at Gadsden (Ala.) Southside, which is 5-3. Kickoff is 7 p.m. CT.
