BREAKING: Former Tulsa starting left tackle Dillon Wade transferring to Auburn
Dillon Wade is following Philip Montgomery to Auburn.
Wade, a starting left tackle at Tulsa, announced on Friday that he is transferring to Auburn to finish his college career. He chose the Tigers over USC.
He was recruited to Tulsa and played at Tulsa under Montgomery, who served as the head coach for the past eight seasons. Montgomery now is the offensive coordinator at Auburn.
Montgomery played a major role in Wade’s decision.
“Coach Montgomery is an outstanding person,” he said. “He’s a great playcaller. I really appreciate him giving me this opportunity because he gave me this same opportunity out of high school.
“I haven’t taken that for granted. He was one of the first people that made me feel like I could play at this level.”
Wade has three years of eligibility and plans to enroll at Auburn for the spring semester.
