Four-star tight end Martavious Collins of Rome, Ga. has decommitted from Alabama. He committed to Alabama on July 20, 2022. Now, he is back on the market.

Auburn has been recruiting Collins since before Hugh Freeze and his staff took over. Collins visited Auburn for a game during the fall. He returned during January two weeks before the Tigers held their big junior day.

The On3 Consensus — a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies — has Martavious Collins as the No. 204 overall prospect and No. 12 tight end in the 2024 cycle.

Called out by Walker White

Auburn’s new 4-star quarterback commitment Walker White called out 14 recruits after making his pledge last Friday. One of the names on the list? Martavious Collins.

The Tigers had already made him a priority. White wants Collins to join him as an offensive weapon for the future.

Collins spoke to Auburn Live about the return visit he took to Auburn in January.

“I think right now Auburn is pretty high,” Collins said a few days after his visit. “Right now, I’ve still got to keep my options open.”

Collins was first being recruited by former tight end coach Brad Bedell, but now has built a good relationship with current tight end coach Ben Aigamaua.

“Coach Ben (Aigamaua),” Collins said. “He’s been my main recruiter. He’s been the person I’ve been talking to. From me getting a chance to know him this week, he’s a pretty good person. I know he’s a good coach. He was telling me about stuff to help my game and things like that.”

At last check, Collins had not scheduled another trip to Auburn, but said he wanted to be back in the spring. The Tigers were seen as competition to Alabama before his decommitment.

The Tigers are certainly in the hunt for his services.
