From the podium: Hugh Freeze defends QB rotation in fourth-straight SEC loss

AUBURN -- Hugh Freeze was directly asked about the quarterback rotation after Auburn's 28-21 loss to No. 13 Ole Miss on Saturday night. His response was swift: "I don't think that had anything to do with the outcome of the game," Freeze said. "I think they both had a really good package and they both worked at times. It would be nice to have one for sure. We're searching to see what is the best avenue for us to go to win. I still think that Robby (Ashford) should have a package. I felt good about both of these packages tonight. They both worked at times, but it was when you get into the third-down area and we don't convert." Payton Thorne finished 9-for-13 passing for 100 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Thorne added 34 yards rushing. Robby Ashford finished 3-for-4 passing for 22 yards and one interception.
