The Davidson File
Position: Tight End/Flex
Height/Weight: 6-foot-6 / 230 pounds
Notable trait/Auburn fit: Davidson has a big reach and large catch-radius. He is more of a receiver-type at the tight end position and meant to replace the spot left from Rivaldo Fairweather.
On3 Industry Ranking: (90.45) No. 279 overall, No. 15 tight end, No. 39 in Georgia
Commitment date: July 4, 2024
Chose Auburn over: Florida, Florida State
Time of enrollment: January
Notable: Davidson is a rare re-commit. Davidson committed to Auburn in the spring, then decided to open things back up. It took just one trip back to Auburn to feel the love and re-commit to the staff. He put on a show at Auburn’s 7-on-7 camp this summer, too.
Quoteworthy: “Yes sir, I still have a great relationship with Coach Ben (Aigamaua), Coach Freeze, and the whole staff here. I really appreciate the love they’re showing me. It’s noticeable, it stands out. It’s a lot of love when I get to the campus and that’s all I can really ask for.”
Film Breakdown
***Film Breakdown written by Auburn Live Analyst Cole Pinkston..
— Davidson is a specimen at 6-foot-6 238 pounds. He has an elite frame with long arms and legs. He is not fully developed either.
— As a receiver, Davidson has a huge catch radius. He pulls the ball in when the throw is not necessarily accurate.
— Davidson can run. He runs well for a big body, but runs well in general. He can move, simply put.
— Davidson gave Auburn Live insight on where Auburn sees him. At the beginning of his career, he will be a hybrid type player who is used more as a receiver.
— Eventually, as Davidson fills into his frame, he will be used more as an in-line tight end to block and release as a receiver.

— No matter how big Davidson gets, his true values lies in being a jumbo receiver as a tight end while being able to play in space.
— Davidson is a work in progress as a blocker. That is no knock on him–he has played mostly receiver as he has grown through high school football. He already understands how to motor down and make blocks out in the open field. He has good body control, but a good understanding of how to approach blocks so not to whiff.
— Blocking will be a big emphasis, but short route running is another area where Davidson could improve. He rounds his routes at this time. The good news: he has the ability to clean up those routes to be more sharp. When that happens, he will use that size against defenders in the open field. It is a small step, but one that will take his game to the next level.
— When Davidson visited Auburn in October, he weighed 212 pounds. On his return visit to Auburn on Feb. 3, he weighed 238, and has plenty of room to add good weight. Davidson has an SEC body.
