On Monday, Auburn football head coach Hugh Freeze listed off four players who have been either banged up or out with injuries. Here are the injury updates that we know of so far before Auburn faces Ole Miss at home at 6 p.m. CT on Saturday.

Damari Alston, a key running back, has been out since the Texas A&M game. Freeze updated his status. “We just had a staff meeting this morning, it doesn’t look good for Damari (playing this week).”

— Starting safety Jaylin Simpson played the full game against LSU, but according to Freeze, he is still dealing with a lingering injury. “(Jaylin) Simpson was not 100 percent for sure Saturday night, but hopefully he will get better”

Keionte Scott, a key starter at nickel, has been out for three games now. He could make a return soon. “Hopefully we will get good news on Keionte (Scott) soon because he makes a huge difference in our leadership.”

— Freeze updated the status of Ole Miss linebacker transfer Austin Keys, who went down in the first game. “Austin Keys, I know, got out of his cast. Don’t think he will be ready this week, but getting closer.”

— Freeze did not mention wide receiver Ja’Varrius Johnson. He has not played a snap in the last two games. Johnson was seen, however, warming up with the team and was dressed out against LSU. There is a chance that he returns this week.
