Hugh Freeze's 'leadership style' sold Ron Roberts on taking the Auburn job
When Ron Roberts received the first phone call from head coach Hugh Freeze regarding the open defensive coordinator position at Auburn, Roberts' mind was racing with possibilities. "It was a hope when it all happened," Roberts said. Roberts spent the last three seasons at Baylor, and the two before that at Southeastern Louisiana. A journeyman throughout much of the south and southwest, the opportunity to coordinate a defense at Auburn and in the SEC is undoubtedly Roberts' greatest opportunity of his 30-plus-year career.
