If the SEC Men's Basketball Tournament started today...

AUBURN — On the day that No. 1 Auburn clinched the outright SEC regular season championship, not that much changed in way of the projected SEC Tournament bracket.
Alabama and Florida flip-flopped the 2-seed and 3-seed positions after the Tide lost at Tennessee and Florida beat Texas A&M. Tennessee remained the 4-seed with their big home win.
Missouri, Texas A&M, Ole Miss and Kentucky remained the 5-8 seed in that order. Missouri lost at Vanderbilt, A&M lost at Florida, Ole Miss beat Oklahoma at home and Kentucky lost to Auburn.
The 9-16 seeds also remained unchanged. Mississippi State beat LSU, Vanderbilt upset Missouri, Arkansas laid an egg at South Carolina, and Georgia won at Texas.

Auburn sits at 27-2 overall and 15-1 in league play. Both 27 overall wins and 15 conference wins tie the Tigers’ 2021-22 team for the best marks in program history. Auburn secured its third regular season title under Bruce Pearl and fifth in program history. And it’s the fifth SEC championship, either regular season or tournament, under Pearl.

AUBURN WINS OUTRIGHT LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP AFTER ALABAMA LOSS AT TENNESSEE

‘WE PLAYED LIKE CHAMPIONS’: PEARL REACTS TO NO. 1 AUBURN’S DRUBBING OF NO. 17 KENTUCKY
RAPID REACTION: AUBURN 94, KENTUCKY 78
Auburn currently boasts 16 Quad I wins. That’s the most in SEC regular season history. The Tigers have 10 wins over AP Top 25 teams before the conference tournament. That’s the second most in the AP poll era behind only 11 from Kentucky’s 2002-03 team.
Pearl said after the win in Lexington, “I’m so happy for the kids. You know, we played like champions. We truly did. The guys have been so locked in all year. The league is so good. Before the game, one of the things I said to the team, I said, ‘it’s gonna be hard in here.’ They said, ‘yeah, it’s gonna be hard.’ And you know, nothing was going to come easy. We knew that.
“Here’s what I’m most proud of. Before the game, I said, both teams have played 15 games in SEC. One team is 14-1 and the other team is 8-7. What does that tell you about what kind of a year these kids have had and how they prepared and how they’ve grinded, and how they’ve been rewarded to do it?
“This is obviously historic. For this one to be for a championship, to make history. This our fifth team in the last eight years that’s won either a regular season or tournament championship. I’m just super, super happy about that.”
