3rd quarter updates
— TOUCHDOWN!! The single matchup to Fairweather.. THAT is the guy you throw it to. Great play.. Auburn 41 Arkansas 3.. My goodness.
— TURNOVER?? Yes… Also, Caleb Wooden’s speed just got deducted in NCAA 2024
— TOUCHDOWN!! The wheel route.. Auburn loved it a week ago. This time JJ was wide open on it. It looked like the wheel route anyway.. Will need to see a replay. Auburn 34 Arkansas 3
— Thorne with an excellent pull again. Now the Alston hammer. Perfect execution this drive.. That clock is melting too. Perfect.
— There will probably be a big drop of in tempo now.. Freeze wants to get that clock down as much as possible every possession.
— That counter was wide open in the first half.. I have a note on it somewhere in this thread.. They went back to it.
— The comeback.. Has been a Philip Montgomery staple all year.
— It took Hunter a while to get his head around on the RB shoot this time. Thorne had to let it go.
— Jalen McLeod is having an impact today.. He and McCallister are allowing nothing to their respective edges.
2nd quarter updates
— I will be honest.. I don’t like that decision at all.. First of all, Hunter needs to find a way to get out of bounds.. Secondly, there was time and another timeout.. Take a shot at the end zone.. That’s my opinion and probably the wrong one.. Either way, Auburn gets more points in less than a minute. Auburn 27 Arkansas 3.
— They went right back to Brown.. and he almost makes a ridiculous catch.
— TURNOVER!!!!!!! Maybe.. They will look at this one.. It was McLeod and McCallister.. They had a meeting at the quarterback..
— That edge blitz was so perfect.. until they did not make the play… Then Asante makes up for it with a really late blitz. Coverage once again was very good.
— That is a low throw.. Have to hold your water there and give a throw on the body. Hunter could have caught it, but this is not a drop for me. He had some real estate. Very good drive, nonetheless. McPherson gets his shot and puts it through. Auburn 24 Arkansas 3.
— Thorne has to let it go here. Offensive line is flowing with an RPO/Play action look. His time clock has to be sped up on that one.
— Wide receivers are blocking their tails off in the field… Thorne is making excellent reads when he is given the chance in the zone read game. Arkansas has given the perimeter a few times.
— Hunter is feeling it. He is weaving through the zone lanes with near perfection in decision making.
— Really wish he would have given it on the counter play there.. I think Hunter would still be running.
— Jyaire Shorter checked in as the outside guy.. I wonder if they are getting ready for a shot to him. What a keep by Thorne.. Love the way they are mixing up the play calling..
— There he is.. the more you target DJ James, the more he makes big plays like that. He’s always tight in his coverage when on the short side of the field. Auburn ball.
— Great pressure, but Jefferson was due a big play and this was that. He worked that pocket so well.
— This time, Auburn had both levels covered on the levels concept. Great job there.
— They tried to get it to Brown one-on-one again… A lot of contact, but it was catchable.. No excuses when the ball is on target like that. DROP COUNTER: 2
— Coverage was very good down field on that one. Smart check down and good that a check down was available.
— I loved this wrinkle.. Let Jay Fair get a shot with some space on the shoot route. That was a tough hit, too. Really nice run. Fair has running back skills as a runner. We have seen this before. He needs these kinds of touches.
— This is where you need a big drive from your QB.. He has to prove he is worthy of sustaining momentum here. Very important drive upcoming.
— WOW.. McCallister on the BULL RUSH. That was perfect.
— That is a levels concept.. Auburn took away the shoot so Jefferson threw the next level.
— That’s a freight train headed down hill. Pittman knew that risk was worth trying..
— When Ron Roberts has a healthy Jalen McLeod, he can do A TON of things with blitz packages.. McLeod is usually the looper or twister… if he is not dropping back after showing blitz.. This is why Roberts covets Jamonta Waller..
— Officials missed a false start on that one.. Either way, Auburn holds once again.. That should be 4 3 and outs now.
— Wow.. Excellent pressure forces a low throw. There was nobody in the flat as the blitz took them out.
— Wow.. That is just good defense up front on 1st down. They closed up the backside cut so well. Good job by Jones and McCallister.

— Great blitz pickup, then a drop by Brown.. He had one hand held back, but the ball hit him in the numbers.. DROP COUNTER: 1
— Tried the slant again.. I thought the slant was a little lazy.
1st quarter updates
— Somewhat predictable play call with the draw.. but it worked.. They have to let Thorne throw and give him a chance to bounce back from that rough play.
— Auburn’s defensive front and blitz packages are absolutely getting home.. But how much is due to coverage?? I say a lot. Auburn moving at a different speed right now it seems. Auburn 21 Arkansas 3
— And there is the first mistake by Auburn.. Spacing concept it looks like.. Moore was drifting and Thorne clutched, but let it fly.. Bad on both parts in my opinion.
— There’s the shoot again.. So simple, just a flat route and very quick. They are simply out-quicking Arkansas right now.
— Auburn gets another good bounce with the bad snap.. Jefferson could not hold on and throw that one. Huge hold.. Keep in mind, Alabama got up on Arkansas like this… The Hogs climbed their way back in. Auburn has to keep this intensity up.
— THE SHOOT PASS.. “Sling and arrow” Thorne got that ball out so quickly.. Looks like they have gotten a few reps on that on. Huge play by Fairweather. Auburn 21 Arkansas 0
— The play action throwback NOW screen.. The offensive line showed wide zone.. That is TOUGH.. Tempo is alive and well today too..
— Hunter loses the ball after a really good front side hit on wide zone.. Ball bounces Auburn’s way.
— My goodness. Auburn forces another 3 and out.. Arkansas now afraid to let Scott get a chance.. Offense is back in business.. What is going on here?
— McLeod took away the edge, then Keldric Faulk penetrated and finished the job. Beautiful.. Then Keldric Faulk closes shop on the other end. WOw..
— TOUCHDOWN!! Scott busted through the middle and took it to the house.. He about showboated his way into a fumble or coming up short.. Auburn 14 Arkansas 0
— How about McLeod being out in coverage.. He lined up at linebacker depth.. This is what Waller would be doing, btw……..
— Asante with the STICK on the kickoff then played the QB run really well along with Austin Keys. LB play has been good recently.
— So, Thorne showed last week that he can handle the Power read play.. He read it well twice.. before they were subbing Ashford in to run that same play. Thorne proved he can do it.. How about the truck stick at the goal line? Wow.
— Payton Marshall.. I mean Thorne with the perfect read on the COUNTER read play.. New wrinkle.. Auburn 7 Arkansas 0. What a drive.
— Another RPO.. Thorne wanted to pull that one the whole time. Nice pump fake and run. He is going to be gun shy after that near pick.
— FREE PLAY.. Good job there by Lew. The play before was very dangerous. The quick throws need to be short throws too..
— RPO RPO!! Thorne sold that so well.. My goodness. Pinpoint throw on the slant..
— That seems to be the way they like to do things.. Get some flow then give the QB a chance to pull. And a false start
