AUBURN – Auburn will kick off it’s annual spring A-Day game around 2 pm CT. Just like on a game day, we will have live updates and analysis going throughout the game. Stay here for a running blog.

4th quarter updates

— Cam Coleman catches an under throw/back shoulder… TOUCHDOWN.. Also, Crawford would get called for PI.. Rough day having to cover Coleman almost all day..

— As soon as I saw single coverage and a field safety walking down, I knew Jay Crawford was about to get picked on again.. Thorne knew it too. Throw was low, but Coleman made the play. And just like that QB play is better. Incredible how easy that is.

3rd quarter updates

— White, again, waits far too long to throw his comeback. He couldn’t get his eyes there in time..

— Durkin dialed up the boundary safety pressure.. Jerrin Thompson will get credit for the sack. Nice blitz call there. Well timed too.. Because Thorne found the crosser.

— Wow.. Robert Woodyard just flashed that athleticism I saw on tape at Williamson.. Ran down a play where he was the read guy out there. Nice.

— Then a perfect shot from Thorne to Lewis. Put it in a great spot.. 1’s against 1’s getting after it now..

— The ball came out too late and was under thrown.. There was a lot of mess up front with a puller and other things going on.. The play fake took forever. Coleman was interfered with.

— White throws behind Dylan Gentry on the slant across the middle.. You can see that the game speed adjustment is still taking place with White.

— Whew.. Walker has to speed up that clock and delivery. He had it if he puts some heat on it. Tried to baby it in the hole. Dangerous.. He’s a young pup.

2nd quarter updates

— Towns Mcgough 2-2 on field goals. Auburn offense scored 6 in the first half.

— Gage Keys, Jayson Jones, Asante.. All closed the pocket really quickly.. That’s first team DL vs. 2nd team OL.. Nice job there.

— Geriner has a nice recognition with the boundary pressure dialed up.. Gets the quick out to Frazier.. who had it poked away out of bounds.

— Excellent coverage by Kayin Lee on the deep ball to Brown. This is what I want to see Brown doing more of. I think he can make these plays. That coverage was great though.. Not sure about the QB decision.

— McLeod dropped back into coverage and had Micah Riley blanketed.. They got him for PI..

— Another comeback.. That is giving the coverage issues. Good sprint out play. I love that.

— KENSLEY LOUIDOR-FAUSTIN WITH THE GOALLINE STAND!!

— DJ Barber slips in the backfield with Brenton Williams also getting off of his block.. Wow, nice stop by the D there.

— Alston nearly scores on the outside zone split read.. Thorne had to give it that time.

— Great job working back to his comeback.. Thorne scanned the other side of the field then came back to the single side.

— Another smart pull by Thorne.. His read grade on these plays was high for me a year ago..

— Much better protection on the next play, but a high throw.. Keionte Scott was in tight coverage there.

— Terrible job of pass pro by Lewis there.. Would have been another sack by McLeod.. He flew in there.

1st quarter updates

— Walker White throws a strike on his first play on the comeback to Camden Brown. Nice route and throw

— Towns McGough gets the offense on the board.. 27-3 as the offense tries to catch up with the defense who was spotted 27 points.

— There’s Cam Coleman… Hank Brown finds him on the seam route.. Coleman slipped right up the middle hash and was wide open.. WOw.

— Jeremiah Cobb makes a nice play to the outside.. I think it was an outside zone play.

— Trying to go fast, Geriner’s first drive starts with an RPO look.. Then a deep ball to Fair who caught the first quick throw.

— That was Jay Crawford with excellent coverage on Lewis down the sideline for the back shoulder. Closed him off well.

— Then another RPO with the GT counter look.. An out route to Cam Coleman that was caught really low. Nice play. The throw looked to be away from the defender and it was a tough one to catch, but caught.

— The tempo is real.. The next play is an RPO with the back shoulder throw to Rob Lewis.. Incomplete.

— Wow.. Auburn runs the usual play action shoot route.. but there is a wide open lane for Thorne to run. Big play for the offense.
