New On3 RPM Prediction: Top TE target Hollis Davidson will return to Auburn's 2025 class
It is fairly rare for a recruit to de-commit from a school, take other visits and then re-commit to the school to which he originally committed. But for Hollis Davidson, it’s a likely scenario.
Davidson, who attends McIntosh High School in Peachtree City, Ga., committed to Auburn in February. He was solid in his commitment, but decided he wanted to take other visits. So, he reopened his recruitment three months after closing it.
Davidson then took official visits to Florida and Florida State. He also took an official visit to Auburn. Davidson on Friday narrowed his list to FSU and Auburn. He plans to announce his decision on July 4.
Despite his de-commitment, the Tigers never stopped recruiting him. Auburn continued to prioritize Davidson.
“I really appreciate the staff,” he told Auburn Live after his visit June 14-16. “It means a lot to me. It really means a lot.”
The efforts could pay off. Florida State on Saturday received a commitment from four-star tight end Chase Loftin. That appears to be a good sign for Auburn.
I certainly think it is.
As a result, I have logged an On3 RPM for Davidson to re-commit to Auburn and done so with a 60% confidence level.

Former Auburn TE commit Hollis Davidson talks Auburn visit
Davidson’s official visit to Auburn also played a big part in his continued interest in the Tigers.
“It was great. I loved being back in Auburn, loved seeing the guys again on the coaching staff,” he said. “I really had a great time.”
His favorite part?
“Probably my position meeting with Coach Ben (Aigamaua),” he said. “It was good. He showed me the specifics of how he would use me in the offense. He had already showed me that, but we had some good conversations in that room. I had a great time in there.”
Davidson also hung out with tight end analyst Logan Bradley.
“I love (Aigamaua and Bradley),” he said. “They showed me a whole bunch of love this weekend. Those are my guys. I love Coach Ben and Coach Logan. I really couldn’t ask for more.”
Current tight end commitment Ryan Ghea also is an asset for Auburn in Davidson’s recruitment. The two have become close friends throughout the process and visited Auburn the same weekend (June 14-16).
“That’s my guy,” Davidson said. “We’ve been close ever since Auburn started recruiting me. We got closer and closer. He’s like a brother to me. I was with him a whole bunch and I really enjoyed that, too.”
