New projection for 4-star QB to Auburn
Four-star 2024 quarterback Air Noland of Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes has visited Auburn “five or six times,” he told Auburn Live last week. Now, he plans to return for Auburn’s Big Cat Weekend recruiting event later this month.
That alone is significant. Now consider this:
He has visited the other two programs that stand out in his recruitment — Miami and West Virginia — just twice combined. The ‘Canes have hosted him two times; the Mountaineers haven’t hosted him at all.
In recruiting, we say “follow the visits.” It matters more often than not.
With the visits by themselves, you’d have to think Auburn has a great shot with Noland, the No. 7 quarterback prospect for On3 and No. 10 signal caller in the On3 Consensus. Then you factor in how much he likes the staff. Finally, throw in the fact he’s a left-handed quarterback.
The 4-star QB is extremely high on the Auburn staff — and vice versa
“We definitely stay in touch day to day and week to week,” Noland said of the Tigers. “Every time I go up to Auburn, I’m very comfortable with Coach (Bryan) Harsin. He’s always giving me motivational quotes. Coach Keys like me and likes my throwing motion. And also, Coach Harsin likes lefties a lot. And then lastly, I think I could fit very well in this offense.”

Today, I’ve made a projection for Noland to choose Auburn with a confidence of 60 percent. If he picks the Tigers, when might it happen? Well, you’d definitely have to think Big Cat Weekend is a possibility, especially since Noland recently told us this: “I’ve definitely been thinking about committing soon. Either before the season, mid-season or right after it. I want to start recruiting for the school I’m going to. Getting the team loaded basically. And also, I feel like I’m getting very comfortable with the schools I’m considering.”
The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine likes the Tigers
Right now, the arrow seems to be pointing to Auburn.
The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine favors the Tigers by a wide margin (97.3 percent).
Noland likes the Auburn staff. The staff likes him. He knows people on the team. He’s teammates with a current commit (Terrance Love). He’s a big-time player and Auburn needs that at quarterback. Meanwhile, the Tigers have prioritized him.
Everything seems to be lining up for Auburn.
My pick is in. Now it’s time to sit back and see how it all unfolds.
