BREAKING: No. 1 JUCO offensive tackle Izavion Miller commits to Auburn
Izavion Miller, the No. 1 junior college offensive tackle, has committed to Auburn.
Miller, from Southwest Mississippi Community College, announced his decision on Tuesday.
“I loved Hugh Freeze when I was down there (on my visit),” Miller said. “And I already loved (offensive line) Coach (Jake) Thornton. I also have an opportunity to start right off the bat.”
Miller’s decision comes two days after leaving an official visit to Auburn. He had been committed to Ole Miss since July, but reopened his recruitment Monday morning. His decision ultimately came down to Auburn and Mississippi State.
The visit to Auburn was a big factor in him choosing the Tigers over the Bulldogs. And it was a visit he almost didn’t take.

“The visit was big,” he said. “I wasn’t going to take it at first, believe it or not, but I’m glad I did. It changed my future.”
Auburn’s Thornton big factor for Miller
The prior relationship with Thornton, the former Ole Miss offensive line coach, was big for Miller.
“I committed to him at Ole Miss, so I love him,” Miller said. “Coach Thornton, I just got a real close relationship with him. He offered me back in the spring, so I’ve had a relationship with him for like eight months. When he offered, he didn’t wait on anyone else. He pulled the trigger first.
“He believed in me and now I’m going to be believe in him.”
Miller said Auburn is recruiting him to play right tackle. He’s currently 6-foot-5 and 318 pounds.
He plans to enroll at Auburn in January with two years of eligibility.
