No. 1 transfer center Johni Broome commits to Auburn

Johni Broome, the No. 1-ranked center in the transfer portal, has committed to Auburn.
Broome, from Morehead State, announced his decision Saturday on Instagram.
“Auburn is a great program with great facilities,” Broome told AuburnLiveOn3. “They also have great coaches, great players and a great community.”
Broome chose Auburn over several offers, including one from Florida, which was his other finalist.
Broome’s decision comes two days after Auburn’s Bruce Pearl and Steven Pearl both made an in-home visit with him. The two coaches – father and son – met with Broome and his father at their home near Tampa, Fla.
Steven Pearl, who was the lead recruiter for Auburn, played a major role in Broome’s decision.
“He is a great coach and a great person,” Broome said. “We have a great relationship. He’s a cool guy to be around. He’s also been honest and upfront about the opportunity I have to come and play.”

Auburn getting potential replacement for Walker Kessler
