No. 13 Auburn travels to Vanderbilt: Three thoughts, plus game notes

AUBURN -- Heading into the snow and ice that blankets Nashville, the Auburn basketball team takes its 14-2 overall record and 3-0 mark in league play to Vanderbilt to take on the Commodores, who are 5-11 overall and 0-3 in SEC play. Following several upsets across the country last week, the Tigers jumped three spots to No. 13 in the latest Associated Press Top 25 Poll and five spots to No. 11 in the Coaches Top 25 Poll. Vanderbilt holds a 90-56 advantage in the all-time series with Auburn. However, the Tigers have won five of the last six in the series. Last season, Vanderbilt won the only matchup between the two teams, 67-65, at Memorial Gymnasium. Three of the last four meetings in the series have been decided by six points or less.
