No. 16 Auburn hosts LSU in battle of SEC unbeatens: Three thoughts, plus quick hitters

AUBURN -- On Saturday, No. 16 Auburn (13-2, 2-0 SEC) will host LSU (10-5, 2-0 SEC) in a battle of the unbeatens at Neville Arena. The Tigers come into the game on an eight-game winning streak, while LSU has won four straight. The game tips off at 5 pm CT and will be televised on the SEC Network. A victory would propel Auburn head coach Bruce Pearl past Cliff Ellis, who led the Tigers to 186 wins in ten seasons from 1994-95 to 2003-04, to second place on the school's all-time coaching victories list. Joel Eaves leads the way with 213 victories over 14 seasons (1949-50 to 1962-63). LSU leads 87-70 in the all-time series with Auburn. However, AU has won the last two games in the series.
