Official visit recap: Reviewing a busy weekend in Auburn
It was another huge recruiting weekend for Auburn as seven targets, including five 4-stars, officially visited Bryan Harsin’s program Friday-Sunday. Here’s a brief recap of each for the busy Tiger fan …
***Gabriel Harris, DL/Edge, Valdosta (Ga.)
ON3 CONSENSUS RANKING: No. 158 overall and No. 20 defensive lineman in the country.
ONE NOTE: While Harris, a Georgia commit, remains firm to the Bulldogs, he said he plans to return to Auburn for a game this upcoming season.
ONE QUOTE: “It was a great visit. I enjoyed everybody and the coaching staff. It was a great visit. I really communicated with Coach Roc (Bellantoni) and Coach (Bryan) Harsin. I had a good conversation with him and how I would fit if I were to go to the school.”
Is Auburn primed to land a standout from Texas?
***Anthony James, DL, Wylie (Texas) East
ON3 CONSENSUS RANKING: No. 162 overall in the country.
ONE NOTE: He said after the visit ended Auburn and Washington are his top two — and his final two with a commitment decision likely coming in early July. He officially visits Washington this week.
ONE QUOTE: “(The Tigers are) definitely at the top. I’ve got one more visit and after that I’m going to make a choice. One more visit (to Washington next weekend); we’re going to see how that goes.”

–EYES ON AUBURN: AU’s defensive line recruiting is heating up
***Jeremiah Cobb, RB, Montgomery Catholic (Ala.)
ON3 CONSENSUS RANKING: No. 7 running back in the country.
ONE NOTE: This is thought to be an Auburn-Clemson battle with most seeing Auburn as the favorite. A decision could come soon.
ONE QUOTE: “The visit was great. I had a real fun weekend with the staff and all the coaches. Just hanging out at dinner with Coach Cadillac (Williams), Coach T-Reed (Trovon Reed) and Coach (Bryan) Harsin and getting to know them not just as coaches, but as men. It was real cool. Me and Coach Cadillac have a real good relationship, especially after this weekend.”
The Tigers are rising one of Tampa’s best prospects

ON3 CONSENSUS RANKING: No. 11 linebacker in the country.
ONE NOTE: Auburn, North Carolina and Oklahoma are thought to be the top programs in this recruitment with UCF also in the mix.

ONE NOTE: Auburn very well could be in his top two along with North Carolina.
ONE QUOTE: “It went good this weekend. I enjoyed my time. I could maybe see myself here one day.”
***Connor Lew, OL, Kennesaw Mountain
ON3 CONSENSUS RANKING: No. 73 recruit in Georgia.
ONE NOTE: Auburn was official visit No. 3 for Lew. He will now take one final visit to Georgia after also visiting Clemson and Miami. A final decision will come shortly after that.
ONE QUOTE: “I’m looking at the pro flight major. For me, education is going to play a big part in this whole process. Because Auburn has that, they definitely stick out.”
***Marcus Bragg, Edge, Western Kentucky transfer
ON3 RANKING: Unranked in transfer portal rankings
ONE NOTE: Committed to Auburn. Bragg has one year of eligibility. He is coming off a junior season at Western Kentucky in which he recorded 27 tackles, 12 solos and 3.5 sacks.
ONE QUOTE: “While on my official visit, I was surrounded by great people. I felt the love. Everyone was so welcoming. The atmosphere at Auburn is way better than anywhere I’ve been.”
