Connor Lew, one of the top centers in the country, has flipped his commitment from Miami to Auburn.

Lew, from Kennesaw, Ga., announced his decision just days after returning home from an official visit to Auburn. It was Lew’s second official visit to Auburn, but first since the Tigers hired new head coach Hugh Freeze.

Lew in August committed to Miami over Auburn, Georgia and Clemson. He appeared firm in his commitment to the Canes until Auburn began a late push. Freeze, along with new offensive line coach Jake Thornton and offensive line assistant coach Joe Bernardi, led the charge.

Relationships are important, but so is having a pre-flight major. Lew plans to be a pilot after football.

“I’m looking at the pro flight major,” he told AuburnLiveOn3 in the summer. “For me, education is going to play a big part in this whole process. Because Auburn has that, they definitely stick out. Definitely the pro-flight major is big for me.”

The On3 Consensus, a complete and equally-weighted, industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, ranks Lew the No. 564 overall recruit in 2023. He also ranks the No. 49 interior offensive lineman and No. 51 recruit in Georgia.

Lew is Auburn’s 13th commitment in the 2023 class and fourth offensive lineman, joining interior linemen Bradyn Joiner and Clay Wedin and tackle Tyler Johnson.

Lew also is the third commitment for Auburn under Freeze.
