Some of the top recruits in the 2022 and 2023 classes were in Auburn on Saturday to watch the Tigers host No. 2 Georgia.

Although Auburn lost 34-10, many of the recruits, including five-star defensive lineman Peter Woods, were impressed with what they saw and experienced.

Here’s what several of the visitors had to say about the game and atmosphere:

2023 DL PETER WOODS, Thompson, Ala.

“The atmosphere was crazy. This is my first game in Jordan-Hare and the atmosphere was really crazy.

“I talked to Coach (Nick) Eason before the game. We had a heart to heart with the job they had to get done. They fell short, but I felt like they played a wholesome game. They made a few mistakes here and there, but I felt like they did pretty well.

“I’ll definitely be looking at Auburn. It’s in state, close to home and they have a great history of winning and great history of sending players to the NFL. Coach Eason has a great history of playing and coaching so he knows what he’s talking about.

“I, of course, will be back for the Iron Bowl.”

2023 DL HUNTER OSBORNE, Trussville, Ala. (Hewitt)

“I was on the sidelines watching the pregame warmups and Coach Eason pulled me to the side. He told me that they have been watching me for a while and wanted to get me down here, and then said, ‘This is me officially offering you a scholarship to Auburn University.’

“It felt great. It is a blessing. It was big for me like a sigh of relief. It’s my first big in-state offer. I love Coach Eason. He’s a great guy. He knows what’s he’s doing. He’s played in the league and knows what he’s doing.

“The game was good. The atmosphere was amazing. It’s one of the best I’ve seen. All the fans, they love the recruits and you can tell they want you down on the Plains.”

2023 DL JAQUAVIOUS RUSSAW, Montgomery, Ala. (Carver)

“The first half they really stood out on defense. They stuffed the run.

“This was my first game at Auburn and it was a great atmosphere. The fans, I can tell they love Auburn. I definitely like the atmosphere and the crowd.

“I’ll definitely be back. I’ll probably come back for the Ole Miss game.”

2023 DL TOMARRION PARKER, Phenix City, Ala. (Central)

“It was a good game. They played hard. I really enjoyed it. They didn’t come out with the win, but I saw some good things out of the defensive line.

2022 DL CADEN STORY, Lanett, Ala. (Auburn)

“I felt like we made some mistakes that need to be fixed. It’s a great atmosphere to play in. I could visualize myself out there playing. I feel like I can play and help once I get here and develop.

“I won’t take any other visits. I’m locked in (with Auburn).”

2022 LB POWELL GORDON, Auburn, Ala. (Auburn)

“It was a good game. I think we played well. We definitely could’ve won that game. The score doesn’t show how close it really was.
