Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin on Tuesday addressed with his team recent reports of him being linked to the vacant Auburn job, according to ESPN’s Chris Lowe.

Kiffin in a team meeting informed his players that he had not accepted another job offer and that his main focus was on the upcoming Egg Bowl, according to Lowe’s report.

“He told the players his focus was on Mississippi State and nothing else and that any reports out there about his accepting another offer were totally false,” sources told ESPN and Lowe.

Auburn Live’s Justin Hokanson on Tuesday reported that Auburn has not officially offered Kiffin. It could, however, happen soon.

“There is a process for Auburn University to formally finalize an offer and extend that offer to a candidate and their agent,” Hokanson reported. “Multiple committees, plus president Chris Roberts, have to approve the offer.
