DISCUSS ON THE CORNER: BELLANTONI SET TO JOIN AUBURN STAFF
Bellantoni will coach the Edge/ OLB position. He coached the same position during the 2022 season under then head coach Bryan Harsin. Bellantoni also coordinated special teams during that season.
Bellantoni has spent the last two seasons at Florida Atlantic as the defensive coordinator. In 2023, Bellantoni’s defensive unit tied a team record for tackles for loss in a season with 88, ranking seventh nationally, and tied the single-game team record with 15 against East Carolina.
His last few months, however, have been chaotic.
Bellantoni was fired by then head coach Tom Herman in November, as Herman tried to save his job. But after Herman was fired one week later, Bellantoni was rehired as defensive coordinator by interim head coach Chad Lunsford.
