Another week. Another disappointing loss for Auburn.

After falling behind 21-0 Saturday to No. 9 Ole Miss on the road, the Tigers scratched and clawed their way back and actually made it a competitive game. But in the end, that wasn’t enough.

When it counted most, Auburn couldn’t stop the Ole Miss offense. Specifically, it couldn’t stop the Rebels’ rushing attack.

Final score: Ole Miss 48, Auburn 34.

Here are some notable Twitter reactions Saturday …

Now for some Saturday highlights — and lowlights. …

On the first play of the game, Ole Miss running back Zach Evans was tackled by Auburn edge Derick Hall, who was called for targeting. ESPN’s announcers did not think it was targeting. Neither did anyone else really. After a quick review by the officials, the call was overturned.

With Auburn starting quarterback Robby Ashford struggling in the first quarter, he was replaced for a series by TJ Finley, who hadn’t played in weeks due to an injury. It didn’t go well as Finley lost a fumble, which led to a Rebels touchdown.

Just as Auburn trailed 21-0 and most probably left the Tigers for dead, they rallied behind Ashford, running back Tank Bigsby and a powerful rushing attack that produced 301 yards on the ground. A Bigsby 2-yard touchdown run made it 21-14 in the second quarter.

Down 28-17 at the half, Auburn opened the third quarter with a stirring three-play, 75-yard drive that was capped by Bigsby’s 50-yard touchdown run. It was the second-longest rush of his Auburn career and gave him 121 yards on his 16th carry. He finished with 179 yards on 20 attempts.

With Ole Miss leading 31-24, the Rebels shocked Auburn with an onside kick and recovered it with 9:46 left in the third quarter. That led to an Ole Miss touchdown and Auburn had to play catchup the rest of the way.
