Social Slant: Top Twitter reactions to 4-star receiver Daquayvious Sorey's commitment to Auburn

Auburn on Friday landed commitment No. 8 in the 2023 class when 4-star receiver Daquayvious Sorey of Chipley (Fla.) went public with his verbal to Bryan Harsin’s program. He’s the No. 53 prospect in the state of Florida for the 2023 class and the No. 35 receiver nationally.
Sorey announced a final group of Auburn, Alabama, Florida and Miami.
“I love the community, the environment, the offense and the coaches,” Sorey told Auburn Live.
Social media was buzzing about Sorey’s commitment
Here are some notable Twitter reactions to this news. We start with members of the Auburn football staff.
Sorey told Auburn Live on Thursday that Auburn receivers coach Ike Hilliard is one of the biggest reasons the Tigers had a shot to land him.
“Coach Ike is a real-deal dude,” Sorey told Auburn Live. “He’s a real one and our relationship is strong.”
For Auburn, Sorey is the second 2023 receiver commitment, joining Karmello English, a 4-star recruit from Phenix City (Ala.) Central.

Sorey has enjoyed his trips to Auburn
According to Sorey, he has a good feel for the Auburn program.
“I’ve visited Auburn like twice and what stands out about the school is how they are academically — and the environment and community is top-tier,” Sorey said. “And the program is a very good program.”
Hilliard, an All-American at Florida, played several seasons in the NFL. He then coached in the league many years before arriving at Auburn earlier this year.
Per Sorey, Hilliard has talked to him at length about what his role would be in the Tigers’ offense. And he likes it.
“I think I’d fit great into their offense,” Sorey said. “Me and Coach Ike have talked about the X receiver spot. I think that’s where I’d be playing at. Running deep routes. And I’d play some slot.”
Sorey plans to visit the Tigers this fall. And that visit is likely to place soon.
“When they play Penn State, that’ll be my official visit,” he said.
