Auburn fans came out in droves to support interim coach Cadillac Williams and the Tigers on Saturday night at Jordan-Hare Stadium. They were rewarded for that loyalty with a “W.”
It wasn’t always pretty. But thanks to a stingy Tigers defense and enough big plays on offense, Auburn ended a difficult five-game losing streak.
Final score: Auburn 13, Texas A&M 10.
Here are some notable reactions from Twitter.

Before the game, many noticed — and appreciated — the atmosphere and energy in and around Jordan-Hare Stadium. And when Williams was shown on the video board the place went, well, crazy.

Neither team had much success offensively early — until Auburn erupted for 62 yards on four plays and went ahead 7-0 with 1:33 left in the first quarter. Robby Ashford hit Ja’Varrius Johnson for a 16-yard score. That was preceded by a 39-yard from Tank Bigsby.

Auburn’s defense was the story of the first half (and really the entire game) as the Tigers held Texas A&M to only 130 total yards and eight first downs in the opening 30 minutes. Linebacker Owen Pappoe, who had a second-quarter sack, was among those who performed at a high level.

With 39 seconds left in the third quarter, Auburn went ahead 10-0 on a 34-yard field goal from true freshman Alex McPherson. It was the first career make for McPherson, who replaced the injured Anders Carlson this week. McPherson had earlier missed from 54 yards. He later added a second made kick.
