BREAKING: Stanford transfer QB Ashton Daniels has committed to Auburn

Daniels, who has one year of eligibility remaining, announced his decision on social media. His decision comes soon after an official visit to Auburn.

The culture that they’re implementing from the top down is probably one of the biggest reasons I chose coming here. They care and I can tell that we’re really close to winning a lot of games. I’m hoping that I can come in and be a fit for this offense and help to win games.”
Daniels has played in 33 career games for the Cardinal, passing for 3,986 yards and 21 touchdowns. He also has rushed for 1,117 yards and nine scores.
Daniels plans to compete, mentor at Auburn
He is the second transfer quarterback to sign with Auburn this portal season, joining Oklahoma transfer Jackson Arnold. The two have a connection.
“We actually played baseball against each other in little league when (Jackson) was in Georgia, so we have that connection,” Daniels said. “I’m excited to reconnect with him, just compete with him and learn from each other and grow with each other.”

Daniels is scheduled to graduate Stanford in May and enroll at Auburn in the summer.
“I’m so fired up about being part of such a great community,” heh said. “Being from Georgia and watching Auburn games and I’ve come to a couple games, just seeing that atmosphere that comes with being an Auburn fan and being in this Auburn community, it’s so special.
“You (the fans) are going to get someone who is going to put in work every single day not only to make myself better, but to make this team better. I’m excited for it.”
