Takeaways: Keionte Scott changes philosophy as punt returner, defensive adjustments, new nickel role and more
Keionte Scott made the most of his opportunities on the field during Auburn's big win over UMass. Scott returned a punt 56 yards, notched four tackles, and hit the quarterback, forcing a pick-six by teammate Jaylin Simpson. And it's in the punt-return game that Scott sees the potential for real game-changing, momentum-shifting plays as the season moves forward. "I felt like the blockers up front did a great job of holding up and giving me some space. The first punt, I think it was 11 yards before anybody was ever near me. When I have an opportunity to scan the field I feel like we have good chances to find some space and create big plays and put our offense in a good position," Scott said. "I'm looking forward to taking advantage of that every week. I feel like this game is about momentum. That punt return can bring a lot of momentum to the game and flip the field. It puts the offense in better position to get points. I feel like that is big." Here's more from Scott.
