Top 100 recruit Rueben Bain names top schools, Auburn makes the cut
Rueben Bain is one of Auburn’s top recruiting targets. And now it’s official: The Tigers are one of his top programs.
The 4-star edge from Miami (Fla.) Central on Wednesday dropped a top six that included Auburn, Alabama, Florida State, Louisville, Miami and Oklahoma.
Wednesday morning, Auburn Live’s Jeffrey Lee reported that according to his sources “Auburn leads big” for the touted prospect, who has recorded 11 sacks already this season. You can read that full update HERE.
In an interview with On3’s Hayes Fawcett, Bain said this about Auburn: “Auburn is the standard (at least in my eyes) of college football,” Bain said. “I feel at home every time I’m there on a visit. It gives me the college vibe that I’m looking for, and I have a great relationship with the coaches, especially coach Roc. They have a bright future ahead.”

Bain unofficially visited Auburn two weeks ago for the LSU game and came away impressed.
“It’s the best atmosphere I’ve ever seen,” he said. “It was a 10 out of 10 … a 20 out of 10. From beginning to end, from the eagle flight to pregame to the swag surf in the fourth quarter … I loved it. It was my first game at Auburn and it surpassed (my expectations). Everything was amazing and eye-opening. I couldn’t keep a smile off my face.”
He added the following …
“It was a great game,” Bain said. “Obviously, there are some things that need to get fixed. The offense could be a little stronger, but the defense did their part as far as getting the offense the ball back. The offense hasn’t really done their part. I know they’re young, especially at the QB position, but other than that, I saw a lot of positives from the game.”
Bain is the No. 83 player in the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that accounts for all four major recruiting sites. He also checks in as the No. 14 edge and the No. 17 prospect in the state of Florida.
