Top tight end target Hollis Davidson has committed to Auburn.

Again.

Davidson is the second tight end in Auburn’s 2025 class. He joins three-star Ryan Ghea from Milton in Marietta, Ga.

Davidson, who attends McIntosh High School in Peachtree City, Ga., announced his decision Thursday on social media. He chose Auburn over Florida State and Florida, among others.

It’s the second time Davidson has committed to Auburn. He first committed to the Tigers in February, but reopened his recruitment in May. He then took official visits to Florida, Auburn and Florida State in June before re-committing to the Tigers on Thursday.

Auburn tight ends coach Ben Aigamaua and tight ends/offensive analyst Logan Bradley were big reasons why. Davidson has developed strong bonds with both.

“They’re both great,” he said. “Those are my guys. I love Coach Ben and Coach Logan, I really couldn’t ask for more. I really like how Coach Ben is like a family man. He wants to take me under his wing. He gets along with my family really well.”

Davidson is listed at 6-foot-6 and 230 pounds. He is ranked the No. 25 tight end in the country, according to the On3 Industry Ranking. He also ranks the No. 450 overall recruit in the class and No. 50 in Georgia.

Hospitality

Davidson wanted to open things up in his recruitment, but Auburn was still on his mind. He made sure to be back when his team participated in the Tigers’ 7-on-7 tournament.

“After my decommitment, I just really opened up things again and took a step back,” Davidson said. “We got invited up to the 7-on-7 and it was going to interfere with one of my OV’s, but we figured it out because I wanted to get back to Auburn.”

After the visit, he and his family were blown away by the hospitality shown from the staff. It was as if a decommitment never took place.

“Yes sir, I still have a great relationship with Coach Ben (Aigamaua), Coach Freeze, and the whole staff here,” he said. “I really appreciate the love they’re showing me. It’s noticeable, it stands out. It’s a lot of love when I get to the campus and that’s all I can really ask for.”

After the visit, Davidson was sure to say he was open to all schools. It was not long until he decided it was time to make a commitment again. The Tigers did not want to lose him in the first place and now have him back in the boat.
