More on McCall’s personal life from On3
“Grayson McCall has always enjoyed football. When other children were watching cartoons at 2 or 3 years old, he was watching football games. He played baseball and basketball, too, but his love for football was at another level. He stopped playing baseball when he went to high school but continued playing basketball until college. On the football field for Indian Trail (N.C.) Porter Ridge, he was three-year starter in a triple-option offense and was a two-time first-team All-Conference member. But he did not have any Power Five offers coming out of High School. The retroactive On3 Consensus ranks him as the No. 2543 overall recruit in the 2019 class. He redshirted his first year on campus and then became a national name the next year. He led Coastal Carolina to a perfect regular season and 11-1 overall record, winning Sun Belt player of the year and freshman of the year honors. His 2022 campaign was following a similar script before he picked up an injury in November that ended his regular season early. After the 2022 season, he entered the Transfer Portal. His parents are Lisa McCall and Jody McCall.”
