WATCH: Home run gives Auburn early lead
If you’re living under a rock tonight, you may have missed the big shot over the right-center wall in Auburn’s super-regional matchup against Oregon State.
Sonny Dichiara, Auburn’s first basemen, got the first homer of the game on his first at-bat. The first batter in the line-up got on base, and Dichiara brought him home as well.
The pitch was a bit low, but Auburn’s home-run leader was able to make full contact on the ball and push it over the back wall for an explosive start to the ultra-important game.

The homer was Dichiara’s 21st of the season. He also adds to his RBI total making it 56 on the season. “Sonny D” as he is lovingly referred, is one of the best batters in the SEC, if not the country.
Auburn will need him to continue his hot streak as the game stretches on tonight.
