A-Day Game rules
Wright also gave the rules and how the game will be played for the first time in the Freeze era.
The Freeze era is here. We have offense vs. defense. Defense is up 24-0. Offense, we’re down. It’s our job to put some points on the board. Let’s go. 60-minute running clock. No quarters. We’re looking forward to seeing you guys out there. War Eagle.
The format is designed in an attempt to make the game more interesting and less like a practice scrimmage as some fans see it.
During the week, Freeze also proposed a new way to go about spring games. Instead of playing against his own team, Freeze would like to scrimmage against another school. He believes it would generate more interest from fans and for television purposes while cutting down on injuries and serving more of a test for the players.
