On3 released its final rankings update for the 2023 class on Tuesday. On the last update, Auburn had only one commit in the On300, the top 300 players in the class according to On3. That was running back Jeremiah Cobb, who remains committed to the Tigers, but has not yet signed. He is expected to sign with Auburn.

A quick recruiting turnaround by Hugh Freeze and his staff allows Auburn to close with four signees to go along with Cobb in the final On3 rankings.

Auburn could add another recruit in its 2023 class, but as it stands today, the Tigers have the No. 16 class in the On3 consensus rankings.

No. 64: DL, Darron Reed (Down from No. 40)

Auburn Live Analysis: Reed is one of the more SEC ready prospects in the 2023 class. He will probably not be given a choice in early playing time. Auburn needs young players to come in and help on the defensive line in 2023.

Reed can help most defensive lines in college football regardless of depth issues. He is extremely active and knows how to disrupt. Causing chaos on the defensive line can help him get on the field while he learns the position.

No. 115: DL, Keldric Faulk (Down from No. 101)

Auburn Live Analysis: There may not be a more physically ready player for the SEC than Faulk. He has the size that would work on the NFL level. We don’t think he is an immediate starter, however. He needs some time to learn how to play inside and use that size to his advantage.

Can he find some playing time in year one? It will be hard to not give him a few snaps here and there. He is a disruption waiting to happen.

No. 188: CB, Colton Hood (Up from No. 272)

Auburn Live Analysis: Hood, being a smaller player weighing around 170 pounds, will need time to develop in the weight room. His case is interesting, however, due to his football knowledge going in.

There’s a good chance Hood breaks in as a special teams player before moving up to playing significantly at corner. Significant playing time at corner in year one probably won’t happen, but he should be able to work into the rotation by year two in our best guess.

No. 191: RB, Jeremiah Cobb (Down from No. 167)

Auburn Live Analysis: Cobb is ready for SEC action. His ability to do multiple things in an offensive scheme will up his stock immediately. He will continue to add muscle and size to his frame.

His fit with Hugh Freeze’s offensive style helped keep him in the fold with Auburn. That, alone, will help him get on the field early and often. As always, speed supersedes many other things, and there is no exception in the SEC.

No. 271: CB, Kayin Lee (Down from No. 265)

Auburn Live Analysis: Lee is ready to compete in the SEC in year one, bottom line. He is ready to compete and play on a physical level with SEC wide receivers.

Lee isn’t tall and lengthy, but he is compact and can handle the physicality on the next level. He can be a good flat player, open field tackler, and man coverage option early on.
