BREAKING: WKU transfer OL Gunner Britton commits to Auburn
Western Kentucky transfer offensive lineman Gunner Britton will finish his college career at Auburn.
Britton announced his commitment to the Tigers on Thursday. He had spent the past two days in Auburn on an official visit.
“All Glory to God,” Britton wrote on Twitter. “I would like to announce I will be playing my last season at Auburn University.”
Britton this season started every game at tackle for Western Kentucky. He played the first six games at right tackle before switching to left tackle the final six games. He was a second-team All-CUSA selection.
Britton has one year of eligibility remaining.
Britton is the fourth transfer to commit to Auburn since Hugh Freeze took over. He joins offensive tackle Dillon Wade, tight end Rivaldo Fairweather and defensive end/outside linebacker Elijah McAlister.

College football players have a 45-day window to enter the portal and find a new home. The window will close on Jan. 19 before reopening after spring for another 15-day window.
Once in the portal, players are allowed to speak with coaches at other programs about transferring. Players also can visit other schools.
Auburn is expected to hit the transfer portal hard over the next 45 days. First-year coach Hugh Freeze said as much in his opening press conference.
“In Year One, the portal will be a big priority,” Freeze said. “I do believe in building (the roster) with high school kids and filling it in with the portal. Can we do that in Year One? I’m not sure yet, so I would anticipate it being heavier towards the portal.”
