Where Gators commits and targets landed in updated On300 rankings
On Monday afternoon, On3 released its updated On300 rankings for the class of 2025.
As expected, several Florida Gators commits were included along with some top targets. Below are those prospects, where they currently rank, and some notes regarding their recruitment.
Florida Gators commits in the On300
No. 52: Ben Hanks Jr., CB, Miami Booker T. Washington: This is a tight recruitment down the stretch featuring obviously Florida but also hometown Miami. Since it was announced that Billy Napier was returning though, that momentum has went back in the direction of the Gators. Florida needs to keep Hanks in the class as its lockdown cornerback. He climbed 15 spots in this latest rankings release.
No. 60: Vernell Brown III, WR, Orlando (Fla.) Jones: It would be a huge shock if Brown signed with anyone but Florida. That commitment is very strong despite being Ohio State, Miami and others still pursuing him. Like Hanks, Brown is a major piece to the recruiting class. He dropped 17 spots in the rankings but is still a big-time talent at wide receiver.
No. 156: Jalen Wiggins, DL, Tallahassee (Fla.) Rickards: Notre Dame made a strong impression during its official visit and is pushing hard for Wiggins. It’s close between the Gators and Fighting Irish, but this past Saturday’s visit for the LSU game went extremely well. That’s exactly what the Gators needed, so they answered the bell, but Wiggins says he still needs some time to think everything over. He unfortunately dropped 61 spots in the rankings.

No. 184: Tae’shaun Gelsey, TE, Jacksonville (Fla.) Riverside: Gelsey was the biggest riser among Florida commits the last time On3 released its rankings, and that’s the case this time as well. Now at No. 184, Gelsey has moved up 28 spots. His ceiling is very high as a hybrid pass catcher. As for his recruitment, it’s closer than what many think. Florida State is giving him something to think about. I think he sticks with Florida as of now but wouldn’t be surprised if it went the other way. He likes both schools quite a bit.
Notable Florida targets in the rankings
No. 10: Na’eem Offord, CB, Birmingham (Ala.) Parker – OHIO STATE COMMIT: After his Florida official visit, the Buckeyes commit said Ohio State, Florida and Oregon are the schools mostly in the mix. The Gators made up some ground over the weekend, but there is still work to do. You can’t count out Auburn either.
No. 28: Dallas Wilson, WR, Tampa (Fla.) Tampa Bay Technical – OREGON COMMIT: Wilson is scheduled to officially visit Florida this weekend and the Gators likely have the best shot at flipping him. That commitment to Oregon is definitely strong though, so it won’t be easy.
No. 58: Myron Charles, DL, Port Charlotte (Fla.) High – TEXAS COMMIT: Could Charles be the darkhorse target for the Gators? It’s difficult to tell, but he did make it to Gainesville over the weekend. That’s a positive sign for sure.
No. 61: Solomon Thomas, IOL, Jacksonville (Fla.) Raines – FLORIDA STATE COMMIT: Thomas was in Gainesville this past weekend and the Gators could be surging here. LSU is the other school to monitor, but he remains committed to Florida State.
No. 66: Jaime Ffrench, WR, Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin – TEXAS COMMIT: After his official visit, Ffrench said Florida “definitely” has a shot at flipping him. He continues to say all the right things about Texas, but having his high school quarterback Tramell Jones now committed should help UF.
No. 242: Tavaris Dice, OT, Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes – AUBURN COMMIT: Florida has been long considered Auburn’s top competition, and after returning to Gainesville for the LSU game, it sounds as if the Gators are giving Dice something to think about again.
