The Florida Gators issued an updated injury report Friday night along with Kentucky. It’s the third of four injury reports that will be released before the Gators (3-3, 1-2) host the Wildcats (3-3, 1-3 SEC) Saturday at 7:45 p.m. on SEC Network.

UF had a total of four players ruled out, including starting running back Montrell Johnson Jr., and two Gators were cleared: Johnson’s backup, Treyaun Webb, and starting left Austin Barber. Safety Bryce Thornton is still listed as questionable.

Johnson suffered a leg injury at Tennessee and did not return. Saturday will be the first game he’s missed with the Gators after appearing in all 31 games under Billy Napier, making 26 starts.

“We don’t anticipate it being a long-term issue,” Napier said of Johnson.

Johnson was ruled along with safety Asa Turner, long snapper Rocco Underwood and offensive lineman Roderick Kearney, who was added to the injury report on Friday after not appearing on the previous two. Florida has 14 players out on Saturday.

If Thornton is unable to play, that would make 15. He has started two games and made four starts last year. Last week at Tennessee, Trikweze Bridges made his first start of the season over Thorton and DJ Douglas at strong safety, where the Gators are still without Turner.

Turner has not played since getting injured in the opener, but he’s been listed as questionable the last two weeks.

“Asa is going to be back soon, I can tell you that,” Florida starting free safety Jordan Castell said. “That man is in the treatment room taking care of his body all day, so he’s going to be back very soon.”

The Wildcats had no changes to their injury report.
