4-star LB Aaron Chiles commits to Florida Gators
Florida’s impressive weekend just got even better.
The Gators on Saturday night landed a fourth commitment of the day when 4-star linebacker Aaron Chiles of Good Counsel (Md.) pledged to Billy Napier and Co.
Chiles is the No. 9 linebacker and No. 109 overall recruit nationally according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
He chose Florida over Michigan and Maryland among his many offers.
The following players also committed to Florida on Saturday in this order: 4-star tight end Amir Jackson of Portal (Ga.), 4-star defensive lineman Amaris Williams of Clinton (N.C.) and 4-star defensive lineman Nasir Johnson of Dublin (Ga.).
These players aren’t low-hanging fruit.
Florida beat out Auburn and Miami for Jackson, Penn State for Williams and Florida State for Johnson.
All four of these new commitments are on their official visits with the Gators this weekend.

So basically, this class has both quantity and quality.
Earlier in the day, Florida lost a commitment when 4-star 2025 signal caller Austin Simmons flipped to Ole Miss and reclassified to 2023. But then the four big verbals came and the Gators program suddenly had regained a great deal of momentum on the recruiting trail. That flip was but an afterthought to many.
In May, Chiles narrowed his list of schools to Florida, Michigan and Maryland. In recent months, the Wolverines seemed to have an edge. But after Michigan landed two other backers recently, the arrow began pointing more toward the Gators and Terps.
Florida now has three linebackers committed in the class.
Chiles joins 4-star Myles Graham and 4-star Adarius Hayes on the 2024 commit list. Both of those players are top-75 national prospects. Each officially visited the Gators earlier this month.
Graham’s father is former Florida Gators running back great Earnest Graham. Graham has in the past attended College (Park) Woodward Academy, a school in the metro-Atlanta area, but he relocated to Gainesville this summer.
