The recruiting finish line is in sight for major Florida target and On3’s No. 1-ranked offensive tackle.

Jordan Seaton, a 5-star prospect from Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy, told On3’s Hayes Fawcett he’s making his commitment on Thursday, Dec. 7.

In no specific order, Ohio State, Alabama, Florida, Maryland, Oregon and Tennessee are his finalists.

When speaking with Fawcett, Seaton opened up about why Florida is a top contender in his recruitment.

“(Offensive coordinator/co-offensive line) coach (Rob) Sale and the staff have a real need for the tackle position, and coach Sale knows how to develop linemen. The Gators fan-base is unlike no other.”

Arguably the most important remaining target, Seaton last visited the Gators on Oct. 7 for his official visit and also made his way to Gainesville in May.

Four offensive linemen, including two with a 4-star ranking, are committed; however, Seaton would certainly be the headliner and someone who could start as a true freshman. He is that elite of a prospect, but the Gators need improved play all across the board.

According to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine, Ohio State is trending with odds of 41.8 percent. Alabama checks in with the second-best odds at 30.9 percent.

For UF, landing Seaton is definitely considered a long shot, but the staff is continuing to push hard and expected to visit IMG Academy on his commitment day.

“I can’t really put a number on it one to 10, but I loved everything about it,” Seaton told Gators Online following his official visit.

“What stood out was honestly the character of the program. Coach (Billy) Napier is changing it around. Coming in two years ago and this being his second season, you can really see the changes and tell they’re moving forward.”
