Florida's Alex Condon listed as questionable for LSU game

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — After missing the last two games with a low ankle sprain, the status of Florida starting forward Alex Condon has been upgraded for Saturday.
Condon, out against both South Carolina and Oklahoma, was listed as questionable for the LSU game on the SEC availability report released Friday night.
UF coach Todd Golden provided an update Friday afternoon on Condon, who suffered the injury 30 seconds into the Mississippi State game on Feb. 11.
“Alex is doing great, to be honest. He’s moving around really, really well. Tomorrow night’s not out of the question,” Golden said. “I think it’s probably more of a longer shot, but it’s definitely not out of the question. So, we’ll see how he does it practice today. He’ll probably receive a doubtful or questionable tag, depending on how practice goes.”
Condon went through shootaround on Tuesday without his boot on. He’s averaging 10.6 points and 7.8 rebounds per game this season.
The Gators also won’t have forward Sam Alexis, who’s still listed as out. He’s missed the last two games with an ankle injury as well.

“Sam’s a little further behind. He’ll be out tomorrow night,” Golden said Friday. “With that being said, he’s still progressing, which is great, but Condo is ahead of Sam right now.”
Florida hasn’t been full strength for the last six games dating back to the Tennesse loss. Golden said he won’t be more cautious bringing back Condon or Alexis despite the postseason looming.
“No. I mean, we aren’t going to play someone who isn’t ready to go and if we feel like playing him will jeopardize his recovery or health, he won’t be out there. So, I don’t know if it’s necessarily being cautious or just being smart and not rushing him if he doesn’t feel like he can be himself,” Golden said. “We have a little bit of a luxury that way. But with that being said, we’re not taking this game for granted by any means.
“If we could be fully healthy for LSU, that would definitely give us the best chance. So again, we’ll see how practice goes. Our trainer, Jon Michelini’s done an incredible job, honestly, through the stretch with our guys. We’ve been banged up a lot and they have been able to get our guys back and have them on the court and get us through the stretch. That’s been really helpful.”
