Alex Fudge to enter name into 2023 NBA Draft

Florida Gators Alex Fudge plans to enter his name into the 2023 NBA Draft, Gators Online has confirmed.
In doing so, Fudge will be forgoing his final two seasons of collegiate eligibility.
The true sophomore averaged 5.8 points and 4.5 rebounds in his lone season with the Gators. He made 11 starts in 32 games at UF and missed some time due to a head injury he suffered in Florida’s road win over Mississippi State.
Before the Jacksonville native returned to his home state, Fudge played for the LSU Tigers, who were then coached by Will Wade who was fired toward the end of the 2021-22 season. He averaged 3.3 points and 3.2 rebounds as a freshman in Baton Rouge.
Fudge joins his Florida teammates Colin Castleton, Myreon Jones and Kyle Lofton in the NBA Draft process.
What Fudge’s departure means for the Gators
With Fudge planning to head to the league, the Gators have now lost both of its power forwards from the 2022-23 campaign. CJ Felder entered the transfer portal following the season on March 21 as a graduate transfer.
The Gators answered Felder’s portal entry with the pickup of EJ Jarvis, who is leaving Yale and coming to Gainesville as a graduate transfer.

Now, Todd Golden and his staff have four spots to fill ahead of the 2023-24 season, and Fudge’s departure will almost certainly have to be answered.
Fudge becomes the ninth Gator who is set to leave the program as Jason Jitoboh, Trey Bonham, Kowacie Reeves and Niels Lane are all either in the transfer portal or have found a new school to play for.
In the front court, UF returns Aleks Szymczyk, who is entering his true sophomore season. Golden and his staff were able to address the needs of the frontcourt with Jarvis and Marshall center transfer Micah Handlogten.
Florida also brings in two signees from the 2023 recruiting class in 6-foot-9, 200 pound forward Thomas Haugh and Alex Condon, a 6-foot-11, 230 pound center from Australia.
