Gator Great and 2007 Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow was back in Gainesville this week filming SEC Nation for the Florida-Kentucky game.

He received a tour Friday of the new $86 million James W. “Bill” Heavener Football Training Center from UF quarterback Anthony Richardson.

During his visit with Richardson, Tebow asked him what it was like making his first career home start last Saturday against Utah, a 29-26 win.

Richardson finished with 168 yards on 17 of 24 passing and rushed for 106 yards and three touchdowns, including the game-winning score.

“You know, it’s something you pray for,” Richardson told Tebow. “Just playing the game, being a great QB. You always want to be a great QB. So, when stuff like that is handed to you, you want to try and take advantage of it.

“That was a great game we played last week, but we have another one coming up this week. So, we just gotta focus and have a different mindset because anything can change. That win is behind us and we’re trying to get more.”

Tebow raves about Richardson

This summer at SEC Media Days, Tebow named his top five QBs in the league and Richardson was ranked third on the list, behind Alabama’s Bryce Young and Kentucky’s Will Levis and ahead of South Carolina transfer Spencer Rattler and Tennessee’s Hendon Hooker.

However, Tebow added that the 6-foot-4, 236-pound Richardson could be the sport’s most talented player.

“Maybe the most talented guy at any position in college football, maybe, is Anthony Richardson,” Tebow said. “You’re talking about a guy that might be the fastest, one of the strongest and one of the most athletic on the field at any position. He is an absolute freak. If he can stay healthy, figure out this new scheme, this new offense and play to his skill set, just literally, we say this all the time but there is no ceiling for this kid.”
