Biggest takeaways — and surprise — from Florida Gators fall camp
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Fall training camp is in the books for the Gators following their final scrimmage last Friday. Florida opens the 2023 season on the road against Utah on Aug. 31.
In the video below, I’m joined by Gators Online’s Keith Niebuhr to highlight the biggest takeaways from fall camp and what we learned about the 2023 UF football team.
The segment opens my camp takeaways and some things that stood out at practice. Then I give my thoughts on new Florida starting quarterback Graham Mertz, who officially won the job after the first scrimmage, and what fans can expect from him behind center.
We shift gears to discuss the season-ending knee injuries to redshirt senior running back Cam Carroll and redshirt sophomore defensive end Justus Boone and how those losses will impact both of their position groups.
